Pathways to Wellbeing: Restorative Walks for Mind, Body and Mood
Supportive, nature-based program for individuals experiencing mild mental and psychosocial challenges.
Equal Footing offers a unique program designed to improve mental wellbeing, cognitive function, and social connection. Delivered by trained facilitators in Victoria’s most beautiful parks, gardens and trails, we provide a safe and restorative space for personal growth.
Our approach is not just a walk; it's a structured journey designed to create lasting positive change.
Our Four-Step Methodology for Sustainable Wellbeing
Our weekly walks guide participants through a proven process that builds confidence, understanding, and healthy routines.
1. We Deliver Knowledge
We begin with accessible, facilitated discussions around evidence-based wellness principles, including the science of how nature benefits our brains and bodies and the "5 Healthy Habits".
2. We Create an Experience
Knowledge comes to life as we immerse ourselves in nature. Our guided walks are designed to be therapeutic, focusing on sensory experiences that reduce stress, improve mood, and allow for mindful reflection and gentle social interaction.
Key Program Outcomes:
3. We Build Healthy Habits
A positive experience is the foundation of a new habit. We provide practical tools and encouragement, helping participants translate the feelings of calm and clarity from the walk into sustainable, healthy practices they can use in their daily lives.
4. We Expand and Reinforce
Through shared experience and a supportive group environment, participants build valuable social skills and a sense of belonging. Each session reinforces the last, creating a powerful cycle of positive growth and strengthening new pathways to wellbeing.
